Snow in Beatrix Park

On Saturday there was quite heavy snow and it continued over night, so we woke up on Sunday to inches of fluffy white snow.  On a weekday this would quickly turn into an annoying, muddy sludge with people doing their best to get to work, but on a lazy Sunday morning there was hardly a footprint in the snow.  We walked from our house, along Beetthovenstraat to Beatrix park.  Things that you would not normally even give a second glance look beautiful in the snow.  Here's a selection of the best photos we took.

Amster-versary snow

Today we celebrated one year in Amsterdam.  Our plan was to visit the central library, something we have been planning on doing for some time, followed by a visit to China town to enjoy the Chinese new year fireworks.  However, the weather had other plans for us- it snowed so heavily that our clothes were soaked through before we made it to the library, and we were so cold and wet that we came home.  After thawing out, warming up and re-attiring in more appropriate clothing, we did venture out for dinner in China town where we had a feast at a Chinese restaurant called Nam Kee right near Nieuwmarkt square.
